NICK RAWLING

COUNSELLING & PSYCHOTHERAPY

I am a native Londoner and I love this city with its diverse mix of people. However, cities can be stressful and I equally need the healing properties of nature, whether it be in the parks of south east London or the varied countryside of the UK.

I have lived/worked in different parts of the UK and worked extensively abroad which has given me a deep interest and appreciation of other cultures and ways of living. Being a psychotherapist is a third career for me after working in theatre and performance, and a subsequent career as a teacher and lecturer of the performing arts.

Many people feel 'stuck' and unable to move forward. I can help you unpick the reasons for this paralysis and find a way through your difficulties.

As an integrative therapist, I am able to use different therapeutic approaches to suit each client rather than just following one approach with everyone.

I utilise a number of therapy approaches, therefore, to create a warm, supportive environment in which clients feel safe.  They are then able to work through issues and feelings that they are experiencing, and face up to challenges in their lives.

I trained at The Minster Centre and CPPD Counselling School from which I have an Advanced Diploma in Humanistic Integrative Counselling.

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and follow the Ethical Framework of the BACP that protects both clients and therapists. I am also registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office.

An initial assessment session gives you the opportunity to see whether we will be a good fit for each other and gives you the chance to ask any questions you may have about the sessions or psychotherapy in general. You may have a particular issue you wish to deal with over a shorter length of time, or a number of issues that require longer term work.

I offer in person sessions at the Little Escape in Crystal Palace weekly on Thursday evenings from 5:15pm to 9:15pm.

Psychotherapy sessions usually take place weekly and last for 50 minutes.

I also offer online sessions via Zoom if you are more comfortable with meeting online.

Sessions cost £60 in person and online.
